Shungite Gua Sha
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese healing method that involves a pressing on your skin with a smooth-edged tool. The best gua sha is made of Shungite or another crystal gua sha.
During this motion, your skin develops small, red, petechial dots which look like rashes.
The treatment of chronic pain is one of the most popular uses of a Shungite gua sha. As well as herbal medicine, massage, acupuncture, and heat therapy, they often combine it with other complementary treatments.
How it works
Apply oil to your body before treatment. In long, downward strokes, ill use the Shungite gua sha massage tool to scrape your skin. You’ll notice areas of petechiae on your skin at this point.
Most people get gua sha on their:
- Back
- Neck
- Butt
- Arms
- Legs
Start by pressing lightly by the tool at first. Gradually increase the pressure on the strokes. You should only be subjected to as much pressure as you are comfortable with.
A “lifting” effect is created on your skin, which some say helps lessen toxins in your body and promotes healing.
